Among the rows of the Pecis family stands an ancient Roman oratory, dedicated to San Pietro delle Passere, dating from a period between the 10th and 12th centuries. Here, among the ancient ruins and vineyards once of San Paolo d’Argon monks’, comes to life the Soffio del Misma, a wine shaped by time and love. Its ruby red tone changes by the passing of time, just like the seasons on the hills of Bergamo. The nose reveals notes of spices and cocoa, then evolve into ripe cherries and plums. In the mouth it is warm, soft, with tannins that testify patience and commitment. It is the result of a family heritage, carefully developed by those who know the vineyard as their home. Each drop is a journey into the past, an invitation to rediscover the history that has characterized these lands.
Born in the 80’s thanks to the old passion of Carlo Pecis, it was later expanded by his son Angelo who currently leads it alongside his wife Marialaura and his sons Massimo and Lorenzo. The two and a half hectares of wineyard surrounding the little church – land and church were once owned by the San Paolo d’Argon monks’ – constitute the original nucleus of the farm to which was later added the property located in Cenate Sotto with additional three hectares of wineyard.
Ruby red in colour with violet shadows (in youth) and garnet (in maturity). The flavour is presented with notes of spices and cocoa, then open to cherry and plum. On the palate we find a good savoury, structure and it’s rich in tannins.
