On Monte Canto, in the western area of the province of Bergamo, among ancient ruins and in the quiet of wide woods and plots of land, Giuseppe Magni was able to rediscover, together with his oenologist and mentor Arrigoni, a land particularly suited to the production of wine. The Merlot del Tasso comes from this land, where the wind blows and the view is lost between the Alps and the Apennines. The ruby red of this Merlot glows in the glass, while the aromas of blueberry and spices herald a deep sip. Chocolate and licorice envelop the mouth, supported by a delicate but evident tannin. It is a wine that tells the return to the origins, the valorization of tradition and the determination of those who know how to wait.

Giuseppe Magni found silence at 500 meters altitude of Tassodine, a locality on the Monte Canto above Villa d’Adda that had been abandoned and neglected for years. In one of those farmhouses which are now ruins was born his wife Anna. This was a good reason that led him to restore a wonderful site (on beautiful days the view over the plain extends from the Alps to the Apennines) historically occupied by peasant families engaged in other agricultural activities including the cultivation of wines. Its great peculiarity is that in these lands also grows Pinot Noir, the only one to do so in Bergamo, but with really surprising results.
The color is a bright ruby red. As a flavour, you can perceive notes of blueberry, spices, pepper, chocolate and licorice. On the palate we find ripe fruit and a well-integrated tannin.
